Full Bio

Based in Dallas, Dr. Cheryl Cellon Lindquist is a pianist, collaborative artist, conductor, and recording artist whose career has taken her into concert halls, opera companies, festivals, universities, churches, and recording studios throughout the United States and Europe. Equally at home as a soloist and collaborator, she brings decades of experience, thoughtful musicianship, imagination, and a deep commitment to communication through music.

Her work spans solo piano, opera, art song, chamber music, sacred music, musical theatre, popular repertoire, and contemporary works. Cheryl has collaborated with distinguished singers, instrumentalists, composers, choirs, and ensembles, and she has worked with organizations including Fort Worth Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, Opera San Antonio, Arizona Opera, the American Institute of Music Studies, Songfest, Opera Steamboat, and the Taos Opera Institute. She has also worked with composers including Jake Heggie, John Harbison, Lori Laitman, Michael Ching, Juliana Hall, and Tobias Picker.

As a conductor, Cheryl has worked in opera, choral, and orchestral settings, while her life as a recording artist and arranger continues to grow from her work at the piano. Her solo recordings explore music of reflection, beauty, and imagination, and her original compositions and arrangements include works for piano, voice, and choir.

Teaching and coaching are a natural extension of Cheryl’s artistic life. Her academic appointments have included Texas State University, the University of Texas at San Antonio, the University of the Incarnate Word, the University of Texas-Pan American, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and the University of Florida, and she continues to work with singers and emerging artists through coaching, masterclasses, and residencies.

Cheryl holds degrees in Piano Performance, Conducting, and Collaborative Piano from the University of South Alabama, the University of Florida, and Florida State University. Across every part of her work—performing, collaborating, conducting, recording, teaching, and creating—she brings decades of experience, curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for the joy of making music with others.
